The bass are starting to slow down off the surf and we are in that in between stage waiting for the "Summer" fish to show. We are waiting on the kingfish and blues to show up in full force. As the water temps increase (we are at about 70 degrees) the migrating stripers head North and follow the bait fish. We have residential stripers that are here all year long that will hang in the back bays. There are many anglers that target them all summer long. As for the kingfish, they should be all over the place but are not. Anglers have been starting to target them more now that the stripers are slowing down. If I get any good reports I will let you know.
We are getting more spot in and for those who don't know, they are GREAT striper and BIG flounder baits. I had an 18 inch flounder swallow a 7 inch spot the other day. They really are great baits and will stay in a spot pen for several months.
Thanks and Good luck
